Kathy’s background is unique. She began her professional life as an account executive with an advertising agency. When this new thing called the “internet” started to catch on back in 1994, Kathy taught herself HTML and launched a web development company.
As the web grew, it became obvious that the internet was the next big “thing” in advertising. Suddenly, Kathy’s 15 years of traditional advertising experience were becoming VERY relevant as small business owners (including a few lucky chiropractors) came to her to develop their websites and plan their online marketing campaigns.
In 2006, Kathy wrote a book Beyond the Niche: Essential Tools You Need to Create Marketing Messages that Deliver Results. In it, she carefully chronicles how to identify your target audience and how to create a marketing message that cuts through the clutter and delivers results. In the book, Kathy explores Neil Rackham’s Huthwaite Institute findings on the differences between the Minor Sale and the Major Sale. Rackham’s work was devoted to making outside sales people more effective, but Kathy recognized how his findings directly apply to advertising… especially advertising and marketing a chiropractic practice.
